hello hello.
WARNING: do not be deceived by joan's shy and demure manner. she is actually SUPER FUNNY. and a HUGE eater who loves KFC and cant finish her bubble tea. and she says all the funniest things at the most appropriate times.
grins. joan i hope you are reading this.
me and joan and kristine went to the ODAC guys' favorite bubble tea shop. i now realize the potence of strawberry milk tea with pudding. it has probably 100 teaspoons of fructose syrup in there or something. FRUCTOSE. shakes head. and it probably jacks up their testosterone level or something. i never knew guys loved strawberry.
hahahhaha. the resulting sugar rush left us laughing from bishan to woodlands. and we talk about the teletubbies and all sorts of random stuff. winks.
at any rate, i love the new exam copy of LONG DAY'S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT. it is deliciously new. and the play is darnably good. so is the iceman cometh.
at any rate. i shall go and do my GP essay. so here's the list of books i borrowed
Between the Acts by Virginia Woolf
Long Day's Journey into Night by Eugene O'Neill
The Iceman Cometh by Eugene O'Neill
The Snows of Killimanjaro and other short stories by Ernest Hemingway
The Short Stories of Ernest Hemingway by Ernest Hemingway
something by Aldous Huxley i can't remember what it was.
i shall catch up on all my intellectual reading hoho. now the essay first. scowl

on a decidedly brighter note, i have decided to go decidedly to the library in search of intellectual satisfaction, instead of wandering my house from the living room to the kitchen to the master bedroom to the bottom bunk to the top bunk and back again searching for something to do.
amused look. as such aided by mrwell man's beautifully done up and rather sparse modern reading list i have decided on the following:
Long Day's Journey into Night by Eugene O'Neill
The Iceman Cometh by Eugene O'Neill (only if i cannot find the above)
Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway
similarly, if not the
Short Stories of Ernest Hemingway by Ernest Hemingway
or maybe even
The Snows of Kilimanjaro by Ernest Hemingway
To The Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf
The Garden Party and Other Stories by Katherine Mansfield
Brave New World by Aldous Huxley
Murder in the Cathedral by T.S. Eliot
and try to borrow the rest of the modern lit texts:
The Great GatsbyHeart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad
at the same i wonder whether i can get my hands on more singaporean poetry.
like arthur yap. i think i have become a bit more addicted to the contempory/post-colonialists and modern writers rather than the 19th C writers. They have a lot more dimension and depth and more humanist values as compared to most of the 19th C people, and their texts are more stark, abstract and more diverse than the long windy way that chracterizes most of the Victoreans. however Mrwell man says that modern writing is only between WW1 to WW2 which i hopefully beg to differ. but all the same mrwell man is quite a historic piece of art and the time which he takes in speaking sentences can encompass the evolution of men from amoeba or something. amused look.
on another note, the smell of tea eggs is wafting really suggestively over. and on another sidenote, i shall add some margaret atwood to the list.

hmm today was a better day.
hanging out with the class early in the morning and just enjoying being around them was great. i love it when i can sit at the table and soak in the class atmosphere, which was almost peaceful, for once, and watch everyone doing homework. hmm. i think after all the upheaval, i learnt how to appreciate my class more.
and after all that i also realize that i miss 408 a lot. and therefore we shall all go see kitty chan in concert. grins. well, and my daily drama serial between monkeypeh, cat and bel, well, seems like its in to be continued mode. chuckle. well at least i get to catch up with bel lich and monkey every morning in the amphi, but its not the same as banging into class early in the morning with monkey and getting greeted by christabel's loud good morning and cat half snoozy expression lolx. and listening to the ruckus of 408 with chinese songs erupting from one corner and english songs drifting from the other.
lunch at subway with yannengz, hengky, twinn, toady, wormy and kristine, while the rest hobnobbed at s11. lolx. i guess i would have gone with them, but i felt like munching on subway today. haha. and i bet they had fun at s11 too hehe. anyway we were discussing about nice random hawker food. which aptly needs you to look beyond their surface to get to the juicy bit that im trying to get across. amused look. well i hope the situation stabilizes and next monday will be alright and osmosis doesnt occur again. shrugs.
reading monkey's blog post, i can feel this twinge of guilt poking me...okay make that sea of guilt. i guess i am really quite a slacker. looks guiltily at monkey, as she can testify...my habits are quite...well..epicurean. i hate work, love playing around, and the only way my tutorials get done is because 1) its a lit tutorial and i love lit, 2) im in the canteen waiting for my OG to arrive at promptly around 7.15 -7.30 and 3) the pile of work is just so huge that it irks me, and then i go into homework machine mode and promptly just polish the whole darn thing off.
guilty look. thanks monkey you old dear for prodding me back into conciousness.
on a lighter note, group journal with the toombaians today! and jonyee i am not pissed off lah. hahaha. i think i had my sleepy dao look on. like after i concentrate too hard i tend to shut down. hahaha. i love my group3 they are the funniest and most screwed up group in the world but you guys rock because of that. hahahahaha.
okay i shall go and ponder the rest of today on my new top bunk! yeah. i love my new doubledecker. (as well as sis)
oh as a side note.
today i got this sms from my daddy, and i was very touched that he actually told me that he couldnt fetch me back today. and very rarely for my dad, he added : lots of love.
i mean, how many of us actually tell our loved ones that we love them?
yay daddy you just made my day happier.

I WANT MY OLD 3O BACK. whine.
patrick come back! :( you silly old starfish. i miss all your kindergarten antics, and the atmosphere in class feels a bit stiffled now - there is no one to poke fun at and make us laugh at the crazy things you do. and i do not have anyone to tempt with fruitips. :(
now i realize what it means by too good to be true...i miss all the fun we had before the march hols started. and i kind of regret now not going to the class outing on saturday.
well, my class is kinda in mini crisis mode now...with new people coming in to spread the love every day of this bountiful first week of school. sarcastic look. the only person that we really welcomed and assimilated in is wormy and letch i guess.
i kinda feel really tired and sick of all these new people flowing in. and out. and i really can't be bothered with all the new people. if they socialize, thats fine and dandy and the class will accept them. if they clam chowder and stew in their fits of misery fine by me. go ahead.
daos.

today group three got an earful from mrsh ah over toomba. it was freaky, especially when he threw the marker at jonyee (??!!). and especially cause i drew it.
is toomba really a bad word or something? :/
because it was adapted from the toomba joke. and my group's definition of it is shitting. and it was clearly meant for fun and not for the crudeness. and furthermore we were using it very clearly for the group name and the role call. and i hate it when they dont tell us they find it offensive first, in the expedition, then come and blow up later in the day.
anyway, group 3 ROCKS. even though we have been stripped of our name and all that is going to be remained is the ugly smear of the liquid paper.
well. except for the "little" event that occurred, we just had a briefing about the rest of the term, and mrle ong's ecology literacy. and mrle ong's funny, he calls people by location. currently we have one state of malaysia, one state of china, and erh, one city in vietnam. Namely, Selangor, Szechuan, and Ms Saigon. rofl. (and he paid us a rare compliment by complimenting the timeline which mrsh ah totally bsed.)
and anyway, S03O's donut party tmrow! yay i can't hardly wait. grins.

dang it, i lost my draft from yesterday. nevermind.
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO SIS AND MOM.
(i spent a nuclear arms programme's budget on my sis. sobs at wallet. but i love to make me sis happy. GRIN)
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY ME, from cat and lich, the buggers who live in february. lolx. it happens that i am seventeenth and one month older today. amused look.
i received alfian saat's collection of poems from lich. YAY. he writes VERY GOOD poetry. and especially more insightful than most of the metaphysical poets. singgers. okay i may be comparing a singaporean molehill to a mountain, but the molehill can stand up pretty well against its taller counterparts. especially if you make a mountain out of it. ;D
I LOVE ODAC 23 AND MY OG MT03. grins. we had pt today -_________- but PT together with them is funny. ahha. and super encouraging. but we have PT again on wednesday. hai. too much PT is NOT GOOD. TOOMBA-IANS enroute with journal! yeah.
and S03O has four new members and PATRICK LEFT FOR 3B :(:(:(:( EVEN THOUGH WE HAD A PETITION. waves fruitips wildly. 3O loves PATRICK and hopes that he will always crash our maths lessons. :/
well. i shall erh, resign from the com. and laugh at lich with her mountain of HOMEWORK. well, at least singapore can finally boast of its Himalayes ranges of worksheets, worksheets, and more worksheets.
woot.

okay so i am happily typing away on bro's keyboard, screwing up eyes at the sharp lcd monitor, and his cpu (the brand's called icute how funny is that) is going whiz bam wham at a hundred thousand kilometres per hour. nice. it has the best power graphics EVER.
well. let me expound more on the art of iceskating with lichen. amused look.
1. GRAB HER VERY VIOLENTLY BY THE ARM, and WATCH HER SQUEAL FOR HER LIFE as SHE DOES A JIG ON THE ICE
2. ZOOM PAST HER and WATCH AS SHE HITS THE SPEED OF THE BULLET TRAIN SKIDDING TOWARDS THE RAILING
3. well, essentially watch the moron make a fool out of herself.
not to say that i skate very well too 0.o but i can skate tolerably fast enough if i want to, because i found out that it is a matter of just chionging and forgetting about the falling down bit. and after a while it just hits you that it wasnt so hard in the first place. and that it really feels like flying. (albeit a bit more wobbly)and me and toad were trying to skate backwards.
Toad says that you have to put your feet together parallel and shake your butt. (well, i dont think that really works for me, but people with ample booties should try it. lolx.)
i have to alter my skirt. mutters.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLE SIS (and gosh, i spent like some nuclear arms programme's budget on her. looks tragically at wallet)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOMMMM! XD
but i must say, i wonder how such an unromantic person like my dad managed to snag my mom. the art of buying roses, and nice gifts, and muttering sweet nothings is totally foreign to dad. well. looks at mom and sighs.
i spent the whole of today slacking. ahahah. and watching final fu on MTV. in martial arts, women get discriminated A LOT, i realize. but there was this guy who really looked like he came out of some wuxia novel with his monkey style and drunken fist style. seriously no kiding, but it was kinda cool heh.
bro's keyboard is really loud.
oh yeah, as a side note, man utd is playing bolton and the score is...
3-0!!!????!!!! to manutd. well.

woot. finally this thing is up, but lich you moron, the font is weird. stares. can you change the font at all, i wonder. to the font on my picture. i love that font. grins widely
so now lich's design comm has one involuntary member.
Me.
wails. why do i always get into this kind of stuff. (but i like any excuse to photoshop. ah well.)
my bro has just bought his new com. and i walked to and fro from simlimsquare to bugis junction for a grand total of 3 times. curses and swears. and i had to pay for him out of my bank. wails. and my saturday assignment just got canceled. boos. so currently i have ZERO CASH. i dont want to go out anymore. :(
which gundam seed art book is the nicest? and relatively cheap too. my sis's birthday's on friday, and i have to get her a nicer style to copy. grins. FMA style is odd.
iceskating later with the 408 people. well one eighth of the 408 people. by the looks of it. amused look. at any rate, i thought it was going to be a lich leening gen and mel outing. heh. where we would embezzle/squander all the ex-class fund. evil look.
okay joking joking.
i wish i was back up on Ophir with the toomba-ians and getting high in the tents. but ODAC next monday! yay. I think the expedition was a good start for us - what to expect in further expeditions, what to enjoy (splashing around in ice cold pools), what to appreciate (like having a nice person in front of you to offer you a hand), and to test yourself way beyond your current zombie state. it was exhilarating. woot.
and i think the best part is having ODAC23 bond sessions. It's hard not to grow attached to a group, sitting on blue stools/tarp and squabbling over a mess tin about how much pasta sauce to put. and ngiam cooks excellant campbell's soup. hoho. next time i want to make mashed potatoes. the best way to eat is to grab a nearby handy spoon and just muncheon. HAHA. and the best water is straight from the stream with no chlorinetabs. haha. and we discovered the merits of the so great water pack. grins cheerfully.
and i went to watch The History Boys with MT03 yesterday! It was a pretty intellectual movie. Well. with explicit themes. heh. and they had a sleepover :( which i was barred from. I bet those lazy pigs are only waking up now (heh joking joking) from the all night intensive mahjong :( which i want to play.
WAH. i miss my OG.

MUAHAHAHAHA I feel so damn accomplished. Nevermind that I ripped apart and mutilated like 3 other blogskins to actually get to here, but still. I made the whole html myself okay.
MELMEL DON'T YOU LOVE ME NOW? MUAKS. XD
Get there by candlelight
Oh my tian. The blog layout is still kinda screwy. But ahwells. And this is lich, by the way. Cause melmel darling said I could blog here! For like one post! But still! One does not resist the chance to spam her blog!
Though it's sad that she expressively forbade me to say anything about hot passionate sex and whatnot. She doesn't trust me. Sobs. Why doesn't she trust me. Sobs some more. LOLX. So here I shall proclaim my love for mel very loudly:
Ding dong bell
Melmel in the well
Melmel cannot spell
We all love melmel!
Yayy. Now wasn't that gay. Yayy since currently the about section of the blog is very screwed, I shall write it for Melmel.
Mel is... A residential ghost. She insists on being a poltergeist. Ahwells.
An ex-netballer. Which is not that she doesn't play anymore. Try saying anything qianbian while she's within reach of anything throwable. Including but not limited to: paper, erasers, erasers, erasers, and did I mention erasers? She likes throwing those. -.-
A qianbian person. How qianbian? -.-" <- qianbian. That, and she throws stuff at you.
Gay. Because I say so.
YAYYY. MELMEL IS A DINOSAUR
FROM OUR IMAGINATION.
THOUGH SHE MAY HAVE A PURPLE BUTT
BUT SHE MAKES CONVERSATION.
Zomg I'm damn high.
YAYY WE WUV MEL! FOR AS LONG AS WE LIVE! (which will be shortened after mel sees this post) Ahwells.
<3
